ABOUT ME

The beginning....

 ​When I was a little girl (and we won’t discuss how long ago THAT might have been) I received my very first camera as a gift. We didn’t have much extra money to spend on things we didn’t need, so a gift of that magnitude was cause for extreme awe and excitement. I don’t remember if it was Christmas or a birthday; I just remember carefully unwrapping it and discovering that orange and black box that contained a most magical instrument…..a brand new Kodak Instamatic 126 complete with a flash cube! Well, I set about straight away taking pictures of everything and everyone that would allow it.
​I made people happy with my little snapshots; and it made me happy to take them. Of course, the film had to be transported to a drug store to be sent away and developed; and you only got about 12 exposures per roll, so you had to really plan what it was you were going to photograph.
Sadly, my little camera was stolen; and I never got to have that last roll of film developed.
But clearly, it made a lasting impression on me.
Fast forward to when I was grown and married and had my son. I was able then to purchase for myself a brand new Canon AE-1 Program, which was pretty much state of the art at that time although still a film camera. The old love for photography was re-kindled in a big way. I received formal training in forensic photography during my 27 year career in police work and learned the technical side of documenting people and events. 
​These days I am blessed to use the skills that I acquired to capture beautiful and meaningful moments in my clients' lives and love every minute of it!
​I have traveled and photographed nationally rated horse shows with Andrew Ryback, one of the top horse show photography companies in the country, multiple warmblood breeding stock inspections, local equine events, and many private sessions. I no longer photograph horse shows. I have published work in the American Quarter Horse Journal, and the Kentucky Dressage Association magazine; as well as a publication of the Chronicle of the Horse, for Hilltop Farm.

Although I specialize in the equestrian world; I am also available to catch those very special days and fleeting moments for your maternity, family, engagement, seniors, and wedding photography needs.
